SEMILLE VR mask

University of Limerick, 2024, Advanced Modelling of Form

Brief: In group of 5 create a futuristic/contemporary design company. As a part of the group create your own design aesthetic connected to the company’s vision. Using sketching on paper and in plasticine clay explore your product idea. Devlop a finished product model in 1:1 scale using clay/foam and digital product rendering.

Branding

To identify the group as a coherent company I decided to help my group with creating a brand name, logo, identity and customer profile.

Brand Identity

The word semille comes from Spanish semilla which means seed. In our practice we believe that planting the small seeds of curiosity and good design can bring people to look out towards the future.

From the small seed of idea grows the great product and through our rage we hope to bring customers a great appreciation both for the designs themselves and our creative process.

The process of modelling the piece started with laying out a rough shape on the face manequin. This allowed me to learn the proportions of the piece. I was primarly working based off of my own moodboard which was based on the company moodboard.

The final mask has been made out of chavant clay. I have reduced the apparence of screws on the mask and included a separate material for the ear piece.
